Did you know that most people bring their winter shoes into the shop in August and September for winterizing (waterproofing, resoling and heels). Sometimes the workload is so tremendous that even when working long after closing hours, our shoe care team can be backed-up for days.
Beat the rush and help us expedite the turnaround time by coming in during the off-peak season for your winter shoe care. As an added incentive, we’re offering a whopping 15% off all off-peak winter shoe care orders. Just mention “OFF-PEAK” at the counter, and we’ll apply the discount to your entire winter shoe and leather care order. This offer expires 7/31/2010.
Before heading out in the sun this summer, don’t forget your sunscreen and while you’re at it, don’t forget to care for your leather too. With all the fun that’s to be had in the summertime, leather maintenance is probably the last thing on your mind.
At the end of each summer you may have noticed that your favorite handbag or sandals are cracked, faded and dry. Just like your skin, leather needs to be cared for and moisturized, especially when exposed to harsh elements. It’s much simpler (and economical) to maintain your leather items than to repair them. So before you head down the shore or jet off on vacation, be sure to drop off your shoes, bags and belts at the shop for some preventive maintenance. Mention “SUMMER LEATHER” at the counter and you’ll receive a 10% discount off your entire ticket. This offer expires 6/30/2010.
Did you know that we offer local pick-up and delivery services? For many of our customers who have busy schedules or for others who find it too difficult to make it to our shop in Hoboken- we offer a free pick-up and delivery service. Call us at the shop to request a pick-up and we’ll arrange everything with you at your convenience.Read More...
Spring is here and it’s almost time to store your winter boots and coats. Ensure the longevity of the life of your leather items by preparing them properly for storage.
The most common damage we see during the winter and spring seasons is salt and water stains. Salt can really take a toll on leather, suede and wool lined items. Not only do salt and water stains look bad, but they can permanently damage your leather, causing the discoloration, bubbling and cracks.
Not the Culprit You Thought
Salt stains on leather do not come from the salt on roads and sidewalks. This is actually salt that leaches out of the leather itself when the shoe, bag or coat gets wet. Salt is used in the curing process to prepare hides for the tanning process. When leather gets wet, the moisture draws the salt up to the surface. Cleaning the salt off the surface of the leather alone will not prevent long-term salt damage.
Bring your salt and water stained leather in today. Our leather repair experts will use a specially formulated salt remover to draw the salt out of the leather, clean and restore lost moisture by conditioning the leather or suede. Proper maintenance can extend the life of your footwear, handbags and leather coats for years.
Take advantage of our spring promotion by mentioning code, “SPRING2010″ when you drop off your shoes, handbags, leather coats and suitcases and save 10% off your entire order. Offer expires 5/31/2010.Read More...
